Our Story
From our home to yours
A couple of years ago, after moving into our new home here in the UK, we set out to create a few bespoke framed brass pieces for our own living room. We wanted items that felt personal, rich in culture, and capable of bringing a distinct magic to our space.
The response was overwhelming. Every time friends and family visited, they were captivated by the frames, complimenting the warmth, craftsmanship, and timeless aesthetic they brought to the room. Seeing how much joy and character these pieces added to our home gave us an idea: why not share this with others? We realized that the extraordinary craftsmanship of Indian artisans — passed down through generations — deserved a wider stage.

Founder & Creative Mind
A designer at heart, an imaginator by instinct, and a creator who loves bringing ideas to life.
Priyanka Das is the Founder of Aakruti, a brand born from her passion for creativity, beautiful spaces and thoughtfully curated home decor. With a keen eye for detail and a natural ability to visualise possibilities, Priyanka believes that imagination is where every beautiful creation begins — and Aakruti is her way of turning that imagination into reality.
By profession, Priyanka is a software professional, living and working in the UK. While technology forms one part of her world, design and creativity have always remained close to her heart. Her love for interiors, traditional artistry and distinctive décor inspired her to create Aakruti — a space where heritage, craftsmanship and contemporary living come together.
For Priyanka, Aakruti is about more than decorating a home. It is about finding pieces that have character, meaning and a story to tell — pieces that can transform a corner, evoke a memory, celebrate tradition or become a treasured gift for someone special.
Behind this creative journey is also someone very special — her husband and daughter, her biggest supporters and sources of strength. More than cheerleaders, they are enthusiastic team members of Aakruti, sharing ideas, encouragement and the excitement of building something meaningful together.

A technologist by profession, a designer at heart, and a problem-solver who loves turning ideas into reality.
Som Das is the Co-Founder & Head of Technologies of Aakruti, bringing to the brand a unique combination of creativity, technology and practical design thinking. While imagination sparks an idea, Som enjoys figuring out how to make it actually work — from measurements and proportions to fixing, mounting and finding clever solutions that bring a design to life.
By profession, Som is a software professional living and working in the UK, with a keen interest in technology and innovation. His technical mindset naturally finds its way into Aakruti, where precision and problem-solving often play an important role alongside creativity and aesthetics.
Som’s ability to combine imagination with practical execution complements the creative vision behind the brand.
Beyond work and Aakruti, Som is a proud dad to a daughter, a friend to many, and someone who genuinely enjoys being surrounded by people. His sociable nature, curiosity and enthusiasm for technology bring a different energy and perspective to the Aakruti journey.

Innovative & Smart Thinker
Young, creative, observant and full of ideas — Priyansi brings her own special spark to Aakruti.
Priyansi Das is the Innovative & Smart Thinker of Aakruti, whose fresh perspective and thoughtful ideas often surprise and inspire us. Whether it is art and craft, product presentation or web design, Priyansi is always ready with her valuable feedback — and quite often, she notices things the rest of us have missed.
When Aakruti participates in exhibitions, Priyansi is one of the most enthusiastic members of the team. From helping set up the display and arranging treasures so every piece can be seen beautifully, to welcoming customers and assisting them with a smile, she enjoys being part of the entire experience.
Her creativity doesn’t stop there. Give Priyansi leftover packaging material and, instead of seeing something to discard, she sees possibilities. She loves transforming boxes, paper and other packaging materials into her own little craft creations — experimenting, designing and giving them an entirely new life.
Small Observations, Smart Solutions
One of our favourite examples of Priyansi’s innovative thinking came during an exhibition. She noticed that whenever we stepped away for a short break, visitors would sometimes see an unattended stall and assume that Aakruti had closed for the day. Priyansi spotted the problem and came up with a simple but clever solution — she designed a “We’ll Be Back” signboard that we could leave at the stall during break time, letting customers know that we would return shortly.
It was a small detail, but it reflected something we truly value about her: she observes, she thinks, and then she creates a solution.
As the daughter of Aakruti’s founders, Priyansi isn’t simply watching the journey from the sidelines. She is growing alongside the brand, contributing her creativity, curiosity and wonderfully fresh way of looking at things.
And sometimes, the smallest member of the team comes up with the biggest ideas.
